All about MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator)
If you grew up in the '80s, you witnessed the birth of the global phonemna know as the Video Arcade. Games like Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaxians, Galaga, Pole Position, Zaxxon, Joust, TRON, and Stargate were part of normal, everyday discusstions. Magazines devoted to achieving high scores or unlocking secret screens were found at most newsstands and magazine racks. As kids, we would pump fistfuls of quarters into machines from the crack of noon (or earlier) to well past midnight. These games were as indelibly etched into our history as the music we'd listen to in those very same arcades.

If you're like me, a rather nostalgic sort of nerd that loved the video games of the '80s, then have I got a treat for you! For many years now, there has been a software emulator that will actually play the original, arcade versions of our favorite games. This is not some cheesy compiler port to Windows, but software that runs the actual ROMs that were distributed and installed in the machines we played.

If you're ready to take a trip back to the '80s, then continue on and enjoy!
